About Chail
Chail is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh, India. It once served as the summer capital of His Highness Maharaja Adhiraj Bhupinder Singh of Patiala.
Chail is situated at an altitude of - 2,250 m, higher than Shimla. Chail is pleasant in summers and cold in winter. Average annual rainfall is about 150 mm.

Chail is perfect - it is surrounded by a thick cover of majestic, soaring deodars, Simla is just 45 kms away, and most significantly, the hill of Chail is decidedly higher than the then Queen of Hills - Shimla. With the majestic snow-capped Shivalik peaks in the background and the beautiful orchards and sylvan pine valleys around reminding one of the many wonders of nature, Chail is sure to cast a spell.

The picturesque hill station located amidst scented forests of Cheer pine and gigantic Deodars. Chail is built on three hills, the palace is on Rajgarh Hill, the Residency Snow View once occupied by British resident is on Pandhewa Hill and the third hill Sadh Tiba where Chail is situated. Overlooking Satluj Valley, Shimla and Kasauli are both visible at night.
